Teri Aankhon Ke Siva

Movie : Chirag
Lyrics : Majrooh Sultanpuri
Singer : Md. Rafi saab, Lata ji
Music Director : Madan Mohan

One of the best songs ever composed by none other than Madan Mohan ji. Sung by the two greats. I have attempted Lata ji's rendition.

I had tried to record this song a couple of times earlier. This time, I think, it came right. :-)

Tu is tarah se meri zindagi mein..

Movie : Aap to aise na the
Lyrics : Nida Fazli
Singer : Md. Rafi, Manhar Udhas, Hemlata
Music Director : Usha Khanna

This song has been sung by three singers and each rendition has its own beauty. The same song can be made to sound a peppy party number and a very romantic ghazal. Rafi sahib's rendition is the most popular one but I liked Manhar and Hemlata's renditions too.

Aate Jaate

Movie : Maine Pyar Kiya
Lyrics : Dev Kohli
Singer : Lata ji and S.P Balasubramaniam
Music Director : Ram Laxman

This movie definitely captured the imagination of a generation. The very very young, pre-teen me was fascinated by the songs of this movie not knowing at that time that most of the songs were unabashedly inspired. I distinctly remember how my mom and relatives would make me sing Dil Deewana and would have a hearty laugh on the line Yeh Pagla hai. Things people do with kids! I reckon I used to sound a little funny when I would say "pagla".

Coming to Aate Jaate, there is something very very special about this song. Yeah it is one of the inspired ones. But still I am amazed how romantic a simple tune like this sounds. With all due respects, I even prefer Aate jaate over the original "I just called to say". This still is an anthem for all the hearts in love out there. :-) Someday, I would like to sing this for that someone special - andekha, anjana sa koi. ;-)

Not sure how this sounds to you. Go hear the original (?) if it does not make you happy! :-)

"I love you so much it hurts!"

Narayan Hari Om

A very very popular AOL song. This has been sung by so many people, I have heard numerous versions of it and each one rocks!

Some tunes just stick to you. This is one such for me. I fell in love the first time I heard it.

This one is not a planned recording. So please bear with it if you find it unable to bear.. :P

Oh Radhey

One of my favorite songs of all time rendered beautifully by Chitra Roy ji. She is one of the finest singers I heard lately. I am hearing her back to back these days.

Do hear Chitra ji's rendition. The album is Nivedan. You can buy it here.

Phoolon ke rang se..

It has been a while since I posted anything here. Now, I will not post the regular details of this song here. You can always google it, right? :-)

I was just humming this the other day. I just thought I will post it..I have not been very consistent with the lyrics (I think that is intentional)..I have not even sung the complete song. So just hear it in that spirit.. :-)

This is one of the most innocent songs. Something stirs deep within. This is close to heart for more reasons than one..I hope you like it.. :-)
